Who I am

Roxanne Allard, freelance enterprise UX researcher and designer, based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. I am responsible for the data processed through this site.

Site statistics with Google Analytics

Only if you consent do I use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit. Without consent, Google Analytics does not load and no cookies are set.

Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_CSDLRYDL35 with a random visitor ID. Those cookies last up to 2 years. Google also processes the pages visited, the referring site, device and browser type, screen size, and an approximate location at country or city level. Full IP addresses are not stored.

• Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Retention in Google Analytics: 2 months.
• Recipient: Google Ireland Limited. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• Data sharing with Google, advertising features and Google signals are switched off.

Contact by email

If you email me, I use your name, email address and message to reply and, where relevant, to discuss an engagement. I keep that email as long as our contact requires, and at most 2 years after the last contact. If it leads to an engagement, the Dutch tax retention period of 7 years applies.

Server logs

The server this site runs on keeps technical logs: IP address, time, requested page and browser type. They are needed for the security and operation of the site and are deleted after a short period by my hosting provider.

Storage in your own browser

Two choices are kept in your browser’s local storage: whether you want the light or dark theme, and whether you consent to Google Analytics. That data stays on your own device and goes to no one. Because it only remembers your own choice, no consent is required for it.

Withdrawing consent

You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the Google Analytics cookies are removed from your browser. After 12 months I ask for your choice again.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict processing, object, and have your data transferred. Send me an email to do so. I respond within one month.

If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
